In late 2006 Smith Magazine asked known and obscure writers to write a story of their lives in 6 words. The result was this book. This was based off the legend that Ernest Hemmingway was once asked to write a story in 6 words. His response was "For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn". The magazine collected six-word memoirs by many. Some are funny, some sad, but all are said in 6 words. In the spirit of Valentine's Day they are at it again, seeking six-word memoirs on love and heartbreak with this book.
Here are some that I liked:
Asked to quiet down; spoke louder -Wendy
Wasn't noticed so I painted trains -Mare (graffiti artist)
From Colombia to Columbia: 27 years -Marisa Casey
In my mind I'm much better -Marcus
Facebook made me more socially inept -Queenie
25. Intelligent. Sarcastic. Athletic. Single. Takers? -Collin
So I thought I'd give it a try myself and see what happened.
Here are 3 attempts to tell my story on love, sabbatical and singleness in six words.
wondering when and where you are
soul fettered... jet setter... much better
31, feisty, creative, exotic, single. interested?
So, what would your 6 words be?

I've been thinking about this post since I read it on your old blog. :)
Here's my six for the day: "I sure ain't Ernest freaking Hemingway."
Hilarious!
